Well, the final results are in, and we
did great!!
All together, the cub scouts of Pack 309
collected, sorted, boxed and moved 202
full boxes of food for this year's
event!! This is
2.5 tons of food, an outstanding
contribution, and an estimated
20% of the
district's total collection! All
the cub scouts and families who
participated should feel great about
this and are to be congratulated!!
This food helps the Center for Food
Action in Mahwah feed up to 150 families
each week, and our contributions will
help them get through the summer time,
into fall.
Also, a big thanks once again to Dave
Mudrick and Mike Rafferty of TopCon
Corporation for providing the truck and
time to help us transport all of the
food! Without them, we could not do this
event this big way! Also, thanks to the
Bear scouts (3rd graders, and parents!!)
who braved the cold to man the tables at
Stop & Shop last weekend to collect food
and monetary donations. And, we'll
extend thanks to the boy scouts and
adults from Toop 89 who helped sort and
box the food!
THANK YOU TO ALL!!! Everyone had a great
time, and we'll all look forward to
doing it again next spring!! You can go
to bed knowing you've done well to help
other families! Have a great week!!
