I did a little searching on Google before our hike today and found some very
interesting history for Campgaw Mountain, and it's role during the cold
war. it was home to part of a missile system ringing the metro NY area and
had missiles positioned there as well as a full set of personnel to support
them. it was called the Nike Missile system, and this was Nike Battery
NY-93/94.
