September 2005 - Rocket Launch
Mr. Ken Davis, an area resident who was the
National
Association of Rocketry national education chairman was able to work with us for our
September Pack meeting. The meeting took place at Memorial
Field. The meeting focused on model rocketry and we
were lucky enough to have Mr. Davis teach us about rocketry. He
has been teaching model rocketry for 40 years, and he had the rocket jokes to
prove it! The meeting lasted about 2
1/2 hours and was a great time for all of the scouts and their friends. The
scouts built their rockets at the
meeting as part a rocketry learning exercise (ssshhh!) and everything possible
was done
to assure that each rocket launched at least once.
