Memorial Day Parade
A perfect day and a great parade to honor the
heroes of our armed services. Pack 309 showed their pride and
dazzled the crowed with another winning float with actual rocket
launches during the parade! Thanks Mr. Knight and Mr. Stern
for all your hard work.

Bike Rally Held!
On Sunday May 6, 2007, scouts from
Coolidge and Sicomac schools enjoyed a nice spring day at the
Pack 309 Bike Rally at Eisenhower school. The bike rally
included a bike tune up and a course with four separate tests of
biking skill.
In addition, the Wyckoff Police
Department provided an officer to talk with the Scouts about
bike safety.
The scouts also got to enter their names
in a raffle for some fun bike prizes, such as bike lights, and
enjoyed popcorn and Gatorade refreshments. Finally, some scouts
joined their families afterwards for a short family bike ride
around the neighborhood.
A good time was had by all!

Scouting For Food Pictures-
here

Wyckoff Cub Scout Pack 309, together with Wyckoff Pack 110, Pack
198 and Boy Scout Troop 89, collected food for the annual "Scouting
For Food" drive. Approximately 500 grocery bags of food were
collected, sorted and boxed on behalf of the Center For Food Action
in Mahwah, to provide for families in the area. All of the cub
scouts and boy scouts would like to thank our residents who donated
so generously to help make this event a success!

Rocket Launch – FUN-TASTIC! What a great time! Over 60 rockets launched at least
once and most rockets launched twice on an egg-citing and beautiful
Sunday morning . Scouts and siblings (egg-stra's) made
egg-specially fine rockets and many egg-stronauts were returned to
lunch - er, launch another day! Pictures from this event are
posted. If you like - take a look at the event
here. Thanks Mr. Davis!
Kit
for cub scout rocket launch $15
Breakfast out with dad before the big event $18
Launching your own rocket when all the adults are still
concentrating on the launch before yours - priceless!!
·
Search and Rescue – A very interesting presentation that confirmed an important
scheduling priority. Never give out the whistles to a Pack
full of boys until the meeting is over!
·
North American
Indian Tribes –
Special Bonus - Raptors of the Wild! -
Many dens showed off their Indian crafts of
head dress - tee-pee's
and sign posts. But when we joined Pack 110 upstairs in the
Lincoln School gymnasium for the All
Wyckoff Packfest, well let's
just say it was a November feast of scouting tributes to Raptors and
Native American dance. See pictures
here.

Pinewood Derby
– What a great event. One of the most fun Pack meetings
of the year was again very successful. The races went smoothly
thanks to the tireless preparation of the track, cars, and computer
software. The cars were once again incredible and very
imaginative. Pictures will be posted soon! Pinewood derby rules

SNOW TUBING A HUGE SUCCESS! - We
owned the mountain for 2 hours. It was great fun and very nice
to realize that all our friends were there. The weather was
perfect and so were the tube runs. This will undoubtedly
become an annual event. Thanks to Janet for putting this
together.

Blue & Gold
